P4- Identify and repurpose

During my time studying digital media at school and college I have made many digital products that are multiple file types. The reasons I would export my products as different file types is because it would make it easier or send my work to employers to prove that I am capable of work at the standard of the industry.  When making my magazine, I used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign to make my pages and I exported them as PDF file so they can be sent to to employers via email. If it was still in photoshop format then when they go to access it from emails, they will need Photoshop installed on their device to view my work which is impractical. Also, because it is a PDF file, it will make it easier to add onto my portfolio website. If it remained in a Photoshop format then I would not be able to add it to my portfolio.  After finishing the short film I completed with my group in Adobe Premier Pro, I the exported the file as a MP4 file so that it could be opened by my employer w...

LO3- Create a media profile

Image
For a media profile I created a CV that I can send to employers when I apply for a job in the future. the CV contains contact details, information about my work experience, key skills and exam results at GCSE level. Finally there is a summary which discusses the products I created and how created them with the skills that I developed during production.  This is the short film I created with a group for unit 5. These are some of the pages I made for unit 4 which was website production. These are the pages I made for the Doncaster Rovers fanzine.

D1- Justify the choice of content and the repurposed formats

While studying at Doncaster UTC, I have had to repurpose many forms of content that I created. For example, I have needed to export Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign files into PDF files so that they can be saved as images. This will help me display my work on a portfolio which can be sent to an employer so they can see my creative skills. The same can be said for my short film for unit 5. While edited in Adobe Premier Pro, it was exported as a MP4 file therefore eligible to be uploaded onto YouTube. I will then add the link to my portfolio and my employer can watch the short film I created. By repurposing content, it makes my employers and my life much easier as I can just show them my work on a portfolio rather than them having to download certain softwares just to see what I have created.  This is the link to my unit 5 short film.  As well as repurposing the actual product produced in the unit I also had to plan for the project before hand. Examples of these pre-production...

M2- Discuss the legal and ethical requirements

When creating my projects I had to pay attention to the legal and ethical considerations to ensure that my products were safe to use or not breaking the law. In terms of legal issues, when creating my short film, we as group ensured that we used no copyrighted footage or music as we don't have the rights to use that content. If we wished to use a piece of copyrighted work we would have to contact the owner of the rights and ask for permission to use that content. Therefore, the music we found for our short film was found on a copyright free website called freesounds.com and obviously we had the rights to our footage because we created it. The age rating for our film would probably be 15 as it contains foul language and drugs.  When doing my radio show with my group we had to be aware of plagiarism meaning we could not create a product that already exists in the industry. This could be radio shows on TalkSport or other sports radio shows and also we could not include any content tha...
