M2- Discuss the legal and ethical requirements

When creating my projects I had to pay attention to the legal and ethical considerations to ensure that my products were safe to use or not breaking the law.

In terms of legal issues, when creating my short film, we as group ensured that we used no copyrighted footage or music as we don't have the rights to use that content. If we wished to use a piece of copyrighted work we would have to contact the owner of the rights and ask for permission to use that content. Therefore, the music we found for our short film was found on a copyright free website called freesounds.com and obviously we had the rights to our footage because we created it. The age rating for our film would probably be 15 as it contains foul language and drugs.

When doing my radio show with my group we had to be aware of plagiarism meaning we could not create a product that already exists in the industry. This could be radio shows on TalkSport or other sports radio shows and also we could not include any content that we do not have the rights to.

For ethical issues, during our short film there is frequent foul language which we thought was appropriate for the genre and narrative of a our short film. However, people could still take offense to foul language. Also, there is pretend drugs in the short film which may be offensive to some viewers and they could of had drug problem in the past or they still suffer from it. When creating my CV, I need to ensure that I use no foul language as that is rude and disrespectful to my employer. Also, I need to ensure everything I state in my CV in 100% true as I am giving myself an unfair advantage against other competitors for lying about what I have done.
