Storyboards:
In my unit 5 work, I worked in a group of three to create a short film called Wrap It Up which is a short film about a boy who goes to a party and meets a girl. They then go on to have sex and in the later days, he realizes that he may have contacted an STD. Furthermore, he is encouraged by his friends to see a doctor which he eventually does to find he tests positive. In the pre production of the short film, it was my job to create storyboards to plan out how each scene would look. In total, I created 3 storyboards for the opening scene, pub scene and the doctor scene towards the end of the film. To put the storyboards onto the computer I photographed them with my phone and sent them to my school email. This method was quick and reliable as I am using devices that are common to use therefore the process could be completed anywhere. With this method, I can download the storyboards to my OneDrive where I store other assets that I used or I could forward them to other people in my group who will also need them. I will use storyboards in an interview as it shows I can plan for a project and shows that I am organized with my work.
Short film:
Also for my Unit 5 work, I created the short film previously mentioned. I visited multiple locations to film which included Ballers pub in Doncaster, Doncaster UTC and near Cast in Doncaster town center. To film we used a Canon DSLR which allowed to film high quality footage that made us look professional and to steady the camera on certain shots I used a tripod.. The genre of my short film was comedy so its purpose was to make people laugh. The short film was edited in Adobe Premier Pro and we included editing techniques such a cross cuts, non-diegetic sound and other transitions to make our film look as professionally made as possible. The short film was exported as a MOV file so when we distributed it onto YouTube, it was high quality which showcases our ability for industry standard publishing.
